Arleta, Ruth Rowles and I worked at Belle Meade together in the four-year old classroom. They were both an inspiration to me and encouraged me to go into teaching. My son, Dan had the privledge of having Arleta as his four year old pre-school teacher, along with Ruth Rowles. We had many great times together working and playing! I truly miss Arleta’s love for the mountains, her family, and her quick wit! We are thinking of you all, especially Eli.

Arleta will always be remembered for her keen sense of humor, intelligence and caring. She never seemed to take herself too seriously and made everyone around her feel good. She was always fully involved and invested in all that she did whether it was school, church or family. She made priceless and incisive observations. We will miss you so much!
Keeping the entire Whitaker family in our prayers.
