I had the priceless privilege of knowing Arvid for many years. As choir director and special music director for our small congregation, his dedication was obvious. His cackling laugh was both sincere and infectious. When I learned of the health crisis that led to his death, it was a terrible blow. Even now, it is hard to believe that God has seen fit to take him from us. Nevertheless, I know, as Arvid knew, that God never does or allows anything like this to occur without a good reason–one that we cannot always see or fully understand in this life, but a good reason nevertheless. While of course my heart is aching at this tragic loss, I am comforted in knowing that , to paraphrase the apostle Paul, he has finished his course, he has run his race, and he has kept the faith, and that I, along with his family and friends, will see Arvid again in the first resurrection when Jesus Christ returns to this Earth. I look forward eagerly to that glorious time! In the meantime, his family and friends will surely have my prayers, and my complete and total love and support!

Sending our love and prayers for comfort and strength during this most difficult time. We are in awe hearing and reading the many many lives Arvid has touched. He was a good man. A great speaker. A talented singer and choir director. A true servant of God to his church family. We are saddened especially for his beloved wife Gloria, little Bobby and family. But we are joyful in the truth and promise of our great Creator God. We will miss you Arvid, until we meet again.
    We pray Thy Kingdom Come!

Arvid was a dedicated, enthusiastic and hard worker but always had time for a laugh and certainly shared his wonderful smile everyday he was with us at Cigna-HealthSpring. When he set his goals, he was rarely off base. He was an inspiration to all of those he worked with and was filled with a Godly spirit in all things. HIs love for his family and his precious grandchildren was evident in the display of pictures at his desk and his shared conversations about them. We will miss him but are comforted that he is with his Lord. We send love, prayers and comfort to Gloria and his family and are here for them if they need us in anyway.

I have missed being able to see Arvid and Gloria for the last few years. One of the things I have missed most is Arvid’s entertainment for Bingo night at church. Arvid would tell one joke after another. Many of the jokes were not too humorous but watching Arvid get tickled with himself, you just couldn’t help but laugh with him 😀. We love you Gloria and we are praying for your family.

Arvid will certainly be missed around our office. He was a man of high integrity, tremendous work ethic and strong conviction. What I’ll miss most is his warm smile and witty humor. It was easy to see that Arvid was very grounded spiritually as he made all those around him better people. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Though he’ll be missed, his spirit will live on through the many lives he touched.

My prayers go out for the family and friends of Arvid. God says he will not leave you comfortless, (John 14:18) but will be with you, and he will give you the peace, His peace (John 14:27), that surpasses all understanding, (Phil. 4:7) which will keep you through Jesus Christ.
I will miss my brother in Christ very much, but I look forward to seeing him again in the Kingdom of God.
    God bless you all

I have sat beside Arvid in the office for about the last 3 years. During that time I have gotten to know Arvid well. We have laughed a lot and also had serious discussions about our society and the world. I know Arvid was a good man and admire him for the things he has done for his family. We were just laughing prior to when he started feeling bad. I will miss him. Ron Bradley

I have the great blessing of being able to meet this gentle happy man and his family a few years ago. My wife and I also shared this privilege together the next year. We were indelibly impressed by his warm, friendly and very loving personality echoed by his sweet wife as well. It was sad that I never had the opportunity to visit again and bring him the gifts my wife and i plan for him and many like him who made our visit to his congregation and Nashville so memorable. Yet we rejoice knowing he went to sleep in the Lord and that a crown awaits him as he rises incorruptible and glorious when our Lord shall call at the sound of the trumpet…. Our hearts and prayers to the family and friends, for strength and comfort that only the Holy Spirit can give.
