Betty Capps Merryman, age 74, of Nashville, TN passed away on March 30, 2019 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Nashville. She was born on August 31, 1944 to the late Andrew and Lorie Capps.
Betty is survived by her sons, Jay Merryman(Tammy) and Joey Merryman; grandsons, Tyler Merryman and Austin Merryman(Shalena); granddaughter, Chelsie Brooke; and great granddaughter, Ella Marie Faye Merryman. She is also survived by her sister, Erma Lee Miller(John); brother Herman Capps(Chris); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her brothers, Earl Capps, James “Pee Wee” Capps, and Ray Capps.
Betty was employed by the State of Tennessee for 35 years. She loved animals and had a passion for yard work and gardening. Her kind heartedness meant she was a friend to anyone and the kind of friend anyone would be lucky to have. To her family, she was a Godly and loving mother and grandmother. Betty was a member of Westwood Baptist Church in west Nashville.
Betty's wishes were that no services be held.

Remember: 1) a party took place Saturday morning when Aunt Betty saw her Savior & then met up w Uncle Pee Wee, Uncle Ray, & Daddy & Mama AND 2) your SC family loves you, thanks you for taking care of your mom the way you did, & are here anytime for anything.     Prayers for the family of Betty Merryman, especially sons Jay and Joey. I remember Mrs. Merryman very well from high school. She also lhelped my parents with the concession stands during football season, as well as , when both her sons played football during junior pro season. May God continue to heal the family for He now has His child with him now. Tell both my parents, David and Barbara Hall hello in heaven for me and may you rest with God and spread your wings Mrs. Merryman.

    Aunt Betty was not just an aunt she was my best friend. I will always cherish the times we spent together. We laughed and laughed. I am sure she is with the rest of our family drinking coffee from That Beautiful River. Enjoy your new life with no pain and suffering. God and grandma along with the rest of the family have you. I can just see you and Shelton running down a dirt road where the deer roam and talking Nascar. Thanks for all the phone calls, pay check stubs, sun glasses, beads, and umbrellas. I miss you bunches but am happy for you. We got your boys just ask you asked.
