As a child, I attended the West Nashville Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Billy. We were one year apart so we were never real close. I did have the honor of seeing him at a restaurant within the last few years. He looked great!

All I can say is that his parents, Bill and Pat, raised a very considerate, respectable man. May the Lord continue to bring peace and comfort to Pat and other family members and friends. ❤

Bill was one of finest people I ever met. When I first moved to Nashville in 1999 to teach at TSU, Bill was the one who welcomed me as a stranger into his Friday evening group. Although I only spent a year in Nashville, I have gone back most years since to catch up with the friends I made in Bill’s group. Music videos, steeplechase, many shows, and some “what happens in Nashville, stays in Nashville experiences” were just some of the great times we had. Those memories live on.

Bill was always a bright and happy spirit. He lit up a room with his cheerful smile and amiable ways. He was always willing to help and lighten someone’s load. If you asked for help, he would do everything possible to assist. He had a great sense of humor and was devoted to his mother and grandmother. He was a joy to be around at the office and wherever he was it was a good place to be. I will miss him.

Oh the people Bill lifted up and loved. My heart is cracked anew never to be healed at this loss. Bill, so many loved and counted on you. And you never let us down. We celebrate you and give thanks…and we hold up your love for your family and most of all your beautiful Judy. Thankful that you both shared your lives with us. I am broken not to be able to say good bye in person and squeeze Judy’s hand. But it will never be goodbye. Leaving this earthly body is a little less scary now hoping that you will be there to dance with me again. I love and honor you. And I love you so much Judy.

Bill was quite possibly the sweetest most generous soul I ever knew. He was the same every time I saw him. Big hug. Big smile. Genuine. Always made you feel special and it was so easy to reciprocate. He was a friend to all who knew him. I will always remember Bill Morton with such great respect and fondness and cherish all the happy memories our gang shared together. My prayers go out to his longtime girlfriend, Judy, along with his mother and 100 year old grandmother. I will see you on the other side one day, old friend.

As I was saying goodbye to a childhood friend yesterday, I was once again reminded how fragile life is and how very significant a smile or a kind word can make such a difference in someone’s life. Billy Morton was that kind of person and definitely had a smile that was contagious. He always cared for others and family was extremely important to him. I will miss you Billy but rejoice in knowing that one day my friend we will meet again. Thanking God for you and praying for Judy and family during this difficult time.

I met Bill about twenty years ago and we have been friends since then. He knew a lot about real estate and shared his knowledge with me many times.
I knew I’d be laughing every time I talked to him.
He will be missed by many in Nashville, Tennessee.
