Carol Phillips died at her home November 24. 2018. She was born August 4, 1934 in West Nashville. She was a member of the Church of Christ and practiced her faith by attending services and living a meaningful and giving life. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Nettie Nokes and also by her beloved sisters Sybil and Geri. They were always a team.
She was a stay at home mom when her children were small. She then followed that with a fun and fulfilling career in the music industry which peaked in 2010 by receiving the S.O.U.R.C.E. award.
She was married to Claudie Phillips for 64 years.
She leaves behind son Greg (Carol Ann) Phillips and his children: Jaxon, Eli, Hayden, and Hudson Phillips, and his step-children: Jacob, Hannah, and Abby Wiser; One daughter Jennifer (Robert) Wiley; David Cox, Beth Cox, three great grandchildren; niece Terry Marrero and nephew Frank Marrero. She will also be missed by her classmates from Cohn High with which she maintained dear friendships.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018 in the chapel of West Harpeth Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 11:00am until 8:00pm and again on Thursday from 12:00pm until the time of service, also at the funeral home. Carol will be laid to rest at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Luke’s Community Center, 5601 New York Avenue 37209. St. Luke’s nurtured our family and continues to serve others.
What a sweet and gentle spirit she was.

    I went to McCan school with Carol until the 3rd grade and to Cohn 7-12. She was a dear friend. Will be

    What a joy! What laughter! What an open heart and open mind! How graced I am to have been her nephew and been imprinted with such delight. Thank you aunt Carol for demonstrating such happiness and fun… did I mention the laughter? The company of angels are celebrating!

    Carol and my mom were best friends from childhood until my mom’s passing in 2001. She was a great lady and wonderful friend to my family. With much love, Pam Graves

    Carol was a great friend and strong support person
    for songwriters and artists. I counted on her expertise

    I got to know Carol Phillips during her years at Combine Music and
    when I was at MCA Records.
    I’ll always remember what a dear sweet person she was.
    So happy that I got to know her during that time.

    Uncle Claudie, Greg and Jennifer, I was so saddened to here of Aunt Carol’s passing. She was always so sweet and gratuitous to me. I remember her quick smile that made her even prettier. You were very fortunate to have her so long. Take comfort that she loved you and will always be in your heart. Sorry we can’t make the service for we are out of state.

    It was so good to know sweet Carol throughout
    school years and beyond. She was always fun to be
    be around. She was a good Christian and showed
    a sweet caring spirit. She was a blessing to so many.
    My sympathies are with the family. And to Claudie,
    you were a wonderful loving care giver to her.
    May God’s peace, comfort, and blessings be with you all in the days ahead as you remember her good
    life and influence.
