The family will receive friends via a mobile visitation on Saturday, May 30, 2020, from 9AM until 10AM, at West Harpeth Funeral Home on Charlotte Pike. The graveside service at Harpeth Hills will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Samaritan’s Purse.

**What is a mobile visitation? This is just as it sounds. Friends will be directed once entering our parking lot  by several of our staff members. From your vehicle, you will be able to sign the guestbook, receive a memorial brochure, visit very briefly with the family, and view Mrs. Dowd (If you choose) ALL from the comfort of your vehicle. With the COVID restrictions in Davidson County still being only at 25 people, this allows more flexibility with numbers, while still being able to pay your respects. We realize this is very different, but has worked very efficiently these past few months.

When I was a teenage Mrs Dowd was always so sweet and always had those encouraging words to get me to church . A memory I will always hold dear to my heart is when I graduated high school and had no family members there. To my surprise there she was taking pictures of me getting my diploma. I still cherish those pictures along with the Bible she gave me for my special day.

  5. Jackie Neal Jones says:

Dear Gary, Steve, Tim, David and all the families of aunt Faye~I was so saddened to hear of her passing. She was such a sweet person and I always loved to visit with her when she and uncle RB came to Louisiana to visit. They stayed many times at my mom(Mildred Dowd Neal) and dad’s house while visiting and I always wanted to be sure and go by to visit with them. Aunt Faye was a great listener and always seemed to show an interest in me and my children~wanting to be updated on how they ALL were doing! May we all be ready to meet our loved ones in a land where there is no more sickness, sorrow, death or parting. Our deepest sympathy with love and prayers for you all during this difficult time. Gary, Steve, Tim, David and family – saddened to hear of your mom’s passing. We so enjoyed when she and R.B. would visit Monroe. We still have fond memories of our trip to Nashville some thirty years ago. Each of you made us feel so welcome with the cook-out while we were there. We will always remember it was on that trip, Faye and R.B. were the first to introduce us to the Cracker Barrel. Please know that we are thinking of each of you during this time and pray that you will find comfort and strength in the days ahead.

    Gary, Steve, Tim & David,

I was sorry to learn of the passing of your mother. She was a bright spot in our church during the years your family served in Lewisburg. I pray God will surround you with the peace of knowing that she is at rest with the Lord she served so faithfully.
