HAMER, Beverly, age 65. Passed away February 4, 2013. She was the owner of Cross Stitch Corner for 33 years. An extremely talented woman, she was a photographer for racing and had a love for NASCAR, she designed beautiful cross stitch pictures, she was a framer. She loved animals and gave to the Nashville Humane Association. She was an advocate to save our Tennessee Fair Grounds and the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. Best of all she was a wonderful friend.
Preceded in death by her father, Leslie B. Hamer, Jr.; brother, David Hamer. Survived by mother, Ruth Hamer; niece, Kalli Litchfield Michael; nephew, Jason Hamer; beloved friend, Jack Doles. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2013 at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Nashville Humane Society, 213 Oceola Ave., Nashville, TN 37209.     Beverly, you will be missed so much. I’ve been cross stitching with you from the beginning of the store. You became a much loved friend. Rest in peace.

    To the family and friends…I’m so sincerely sorry for your loss. I worked with Beverly on a couple cross stitch shows. She was such a beautiful lady, inside and out. A kind soul indeed. She will be greatly missed. I’m sure you’re having a lovely visit with Harry. Love you dear friend.

    I have known Beverly for over 30 years. She was very kind and considerate friend who shared with me and our mutual friends the love of needlework. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her.

    I’ve known Bev for many years through our association with NASCAR. Have lots of memories to look back on and fun times. She was such a wonderful person. Bev, you will be missed….and thanks.

    Bev&I went to calvert junior high together and lived a street over from each other.We had a lot of great times through the 60’s.Oh! how I wished we had kept in touch.My toughts and prayers to Mrs.Hamer and family.Bev,you were a true friend.Love,Sharon

    Prayer’s to Bev’s family. I have known Bev from her NASCAR days. We enjoyed the tour travel and saw each other at the events on the tour. She will be missed by those that spent the weekends following the racecars.

    My deepest sympathy for your family during this sad time. I’ve been a visitor to Beverly’s shop since the mid-nineties, and always enjoyed shopping and talking every time. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

    To Beverly’s Family:
    I was so lucky to have met Beverly and call her friend many years ago. I have many fond memories of our NASCAR days. Through Beverly, I met many wonderful people and to her I’ll always be thankful. Beverly was a true inspiration to everybody with an amazing drive, spirit and determination. She is one special angel now.

    There is no words I could say to make your pain go away. But you have lots of friend who love you and praying for you. Beverly was loved by all and I will miss her. I feel like I have lost a sister and a friend . She has been so much apart of my life for 31 years. I loved her and I love you. I will keep you in my prayer and will be here if you need me. Kalli and Mike I love you both, you are in my thought as well.

    Bev took me by the hand in 1981 and introduced me to Nashville Speedway on my first visit representing the Wrangler Jeans NASCAR sponsorship. She was such a kind and thoughtful individual. My condolences.
