As part of Jimmy’s ‘extended family’, I’ve had the pleasure of knowing him fondly as Grand Daddy to his beloved family and my grandchildren. He was such a joy to talk with-inspiring, jovial, full of wisdom and always knew exactly what to say to make you feel special. He will be missed but cherished in the heart of all those he loved. The stars will shine brighter tonight.

I have been leading singing in a regular basis for almost fifty years….brother Jimmy is directly responsible…as an awkward teenager that never pitched it right he wouldn’t let me say ‘no’ and would make me get up at the old Park Avenue congregation and lead…he was and will always be my favorite leader and the standard to be compared to…he knew every song ever written and knew how to lead it…in addition to being a great example to me, he was a great friend to my parents…my condolences to the family; wish we could be there to express them in person.

Jimmy Goad was a beacon of light in my life, that I got to enjoy for many years at work.. We were more than co-workers, we were friends. He became a moral compass for many of us who knew and loved him. I will miss him greatly but know he is in loving arms. My prayers going up for the wonderful family he loved so much.
