It seems as if I’ve known Janice all my life and probably 65 of my 73-years. I’ve known Janice since the 3rd Grade, attending Cockrill Elementary with her the 1st & 2nd Grades. We attended the same church West Nashville Methodist Church. Even though my family and I moved to Sylvan Park, during the summer of ’51, our friendship remained because of attending the same church. I thought it was so neat that Janice and her parents lived across the street from Cockrill Elementary and she could walk across the street to school. When we both began the 7th Grade, at Cohn High School, we were together again for both school and church. Janice’s parents were wonderful and Janice inherited all the wonderful traits of her parents. What a smile and it was always there. How could and can you describe true love? Janice and Thomas knew what true love was and we class members, from the Cohn Class of ’61, knew the “Janice & Thomas” match-up was for real and forever. I will miss Janice’s smile, but I will always have the wonderful memories we shared when pre-teens, teenagers and our senior years.
Rest in Peace my dear friend!
