LEACH, Birdie Elizabeth-Born October 1920 passed from this world, and on to the next in the early morning hours of November 18th, 2006. Her long and happy life was filled with a large, loving family and the incredible events of the past 86 years. This time brought everything from the Great Depression and World War II, to automobiles, color TVs, personal computers, cell phones, space travel and a man on the moon. Music evolved from the big band era, to rock and roll, Elvis and The Beatles.
She eagerly embraced change and innovation with humor and wisdom, and faced challenge and adversity with faith, grace and the help of her devoted husband of 54 years ~Harrison~, who passed away in 1996. She and Harrison lived in Indianapolis for 46 years and attended Emerson Avenue Baptist Church. After Harrison passed, Birdie moved to Evansville to be close to her brother, Ben Lawson, his wife Connie, and their son Josh. There she attended Westwood General Baptist Church.
Birdie was an artist, a musician, a singer, a dancer, a swimmer, a golfer, a player of games and a storyteller. She sang in the church choir, taught Sunday school and was a great and faithful friend. She will always be cherished and beloved by her
