Mark Michael Griffin passed away on 10/29/14 peacefully at his home in Nashville. Mark fought a courageous battle against cancer with dignity and grace. Mark is survived by his brothers, Daniel, Gerard, Justin, Patrick and his sister Maryanne (O'Neil). Mark was the loving uncle to several nieces and nephews. He loved them all dearly. Marks wife Julie was the love of his life. He was a dedicated and loving husband. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, and raised in Fairlawn, NJ, and Cleveland, Ohio, before relocating to Nashville more than 17 years ago. Mark was an accomplished story teller when friends and family gathered. He could make anyone laugh and feel special when he was “holding court”. Mark had a gift for making people know that they are important and loved. He was incredibly generous and kind, often volunteering to help others even during his illness. He had a passion for life, and was grateful for what most would consider mundane and trivial. Mark was a 4th degree member of the Knights Of Columbus and an avid golfer and runner. His presence will be missed by his friends and family. Mark's family would like to thank the kindness and special care he received from the Sarah Cannon nurses, and the overwhelming generosity of the Nashville Wraps family that allowed him to spend every moment of every day with his wife Julie during his illness. Visitation will be at West Harpeth Funeral Home, 6962 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, on Sunday, November 2, from 2-5 pm. A funeral mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3001 Belmont Blvd., Nashville on Monday, November 3, at 10 am. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society Patient Services, 2000 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, TN 37203. WEST HARPETH FUNERAL HOME, 6962 Charlotte Pike; online guestbook 352-9400.

I used to work with this guy when I first started at FedEx. He was a awesome person and we had many laughs. He made working fun and was a hard worker. I remember him always talking highly of his wife Julie. You could tell he loved her more than life itself. He was awesome. Love you Mark. Julie I never got to meet you but don’t hesitate to reach out to my wife or I if you need something.

    Julie and Family,
We are so sorry to hear of Marks passing.
I am a NJ cousin and haven’t seen mark in years but I will always remember our visits with the Griffin family in Ohio and how much fun Mark was. He was always kind and full of life. He always made time for the cousins when we came there. He was a beautiful person. I will always remember him fondly.
Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you today and always.
    Love John & Anna

I am very sorry to hear that Mark lost the battle with his illness. I know you have mentioned a number of times that he was the love of your life. Nobody can tell you they know how you feel. All we can do is to pray for Mark and just as important to pray for you to have the strenght to continue moving on. It will not be easy but you are a strong person and you will survive. If you ever need to talk with anyone that has gone through this situation, Diane’s sisters husband may be able to help. We are here to support you and here for you if you ever need anything.
I feel terrible that my flight was cancelled yesterday. I really wanted to be there and show my support for you. You are truly a friend more than a business partner.
    Our thoughts are with you.

Julie and all the Griffins, Mark was one of a kind and a special person to many and loved by all. Again one of the really good ones leaves us way too early. He was absolutely the funniest guy iI ever knew or paid money to see. He was my friend and I will miss him but I know his next journey will be a good one and for sure he is now making someone laugh and feel special. Redman
