    Mike, Sherry, and family,
Matt was just and awesome soul. He loved his work and he was loved by everyone in the department. His pain is gone and he has been given his wings. He will forever watch over his family and extended family. We will always feel his loss but know that he is there, secretly smiling and guiding us. I worked with Matt when he first came on…..shy, eager, mindful and always smiling. I cherish that time with him. I will miss him always. Love, peace and comfort to you. God’s child has gone home for a different work. God Bless you during this mournful time.

You are the kindest soul I know. I will miss you. Rain down some of that kindness down on us, as we tend to forget sometimes that it is necessary. Your watch from this earth is ended but will continue from high above. We have watch now. Rest easy, and may God’s love and warmth embrace you.

One of the most amazing guys I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. I enjoyed having you as a work partner and even more as a very close friend. I will always think of the many laughs we have shared and the memories we have made. I am missing you terribly right now but I know you are watching over us all and keeping us safe. I love you my brother. Always and forever.

I remember Matt coming in for his interview fresh out of EMT school. He was so shy but had such a great smile and personality! It didn’t take long for him to warm up to everyone! Pure souls like Matt’s will leave a void in our community that can never be filled. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
