Survived by his wife of 49 years, Doris Monk; children, Douglas Monk, Jr., Richard Monk, James Monk and Mary Diane Miller; 3 grandchildren; sister, Joyce Garmon.     Mr. Monk !!!! Thats the way we will always remember him. Never met a stranger and a friend to anyone who shook his hand ! Always kind to my Family and Children and surely will be missed !     He was a good friend to us over the years. He was always laughing and telling jokes. If you were around him you had to smile. He is probably telling the angels in heaven jokes right now. Go Monk!

    Monk was and I imagine still is a character. I never knew him to say and unkind word or be mean to anyone. If someone needed help he was always the first in line. We will miss you and your jokes. Now, go and catch Ma, Kirby, Rose, Doug and the rest on what’s been happening on earth! Debbie & Mike
