Papaw, you are the only man in my life that was always there for me thru the good and bad. You taught me how to fish, plant a garden, well i could go on and on but you already know. The best memories I have are riding on your gravely while you tilled the garden and helping you with your tools under the carport. Playing rook and checkers will never be the same. No song you taught me will be sung the same. I am your grandchild but you were, are and always will be my daddy. You will be greatly missed but will live on in my children. They were all fortunate to know you and love you as I do. You gave me courage, strength, sense of humor and most importantly my head strong ways. I am so glad to have been there with you till the end and I promise to be right by grandma to help her thru this. I love you papaw and will be expecting you to watch after me like you always have. So, dance that jig and keep em on their toes up there and save one for me LOVE, MISSY

The community has lost a dear, sweet, loving neighbor and friend. We treasure the memories as he stood with Ms Nancy at the corner during all those Wade school years. His wonderful gardening tips, old stories and the fun he had on Friday nights. He liked the music, but mostly he liked talking to all of the people. We will miss him. With Sympathy, Janie Woodrd

Many years we shared many laughs and many times of togetherness. Many years have come and gone since then. I suppose we all grow old and find our time meeting God face to face. Pap was always a joker and made many people’s lives just a little happier. Momma Newman, remember the good in all that you have shared with others. I didn’t forget you. I have such fond memories of you and Pap. Smile as often as you can for you have so much still going for you with such a large family of love. All your children are alive and healthy. I will come see you soon. I love you. Sorry I didn’t make it today, but DeAnna had to take all 3 kids to the doctor @ 10:30 and because of unusual circumstances we didn’t leave there until 1:00. Much too long but we couldn’t help it.
Give all my love to all. I think of you often. Carol
