Rachel Polk Davenport
Kingston Springs, TN

Age 26, departed this life April 12, 2015.
Rachel Polk Davenport was born May 31, 1988 and departed this life on April 12, 2015. For her young 26 years, Rachel was such an amazing woman in that she touched the lives of all who knew her. She was many things, a loving mother, wife, daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. God graced all of us with Rachel’s loving spirit until He decided to call her home to be with Him. While Rachel has departed us, her spirit lives on in all our hearts and in her two beautiful children, Dallas and Tara, ages 6 and 5, respectively. She will always be remembered for her loving nature, her caring for others, her vibrant personality and the light that shone from her. Her greatest legacy is the determination and deep love she had for her husband, Anthony, and their two children, and for her mom and dad, sisters and brothers, grandparents, in-laws, aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.
Rachel was a 2006 graduate from Harpeth High School in Kingston Springs, TN. She was currently employed at Women’s Obstetrics and Gynecology in Nashville, TN and was shy just months in obtaining a degree in Hospital Administration from the University of Phoenix. She was in the process of building a future for her family, especially her two children.
Rachel will truly be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Rachel was preceded in death by her uncle, Sam Foster, Jr. (Uncle Junior). She is survived by husband, James ‘Anthony’ Davenport; children, Dallas and Tara Davenport, ages 6 and 5, respectively; mother and father, Theresa and Steve Polk of Ashland City, TN; brothers and sisters, Steven Curtis Polk, Freddy Polk, Samantha Polk, and Andrew Polk of Ashland City, TN, and Lyndsey Jackson of Nashville, TN; grandparents, Joyce Dury Foster and Rickey Boyd of Ashland City, TN, Sam Foster, Sr. of New Johnsonville, TN, and Ruby Polk of Nashville, TN; aunt and uncle, Rhonda and Joe Ellis, of Joelton, TN; parents-in-law, Beverly and David Davenport, of Nashville, TN; sister-in-law, Rebecca Davenport of Pegram, TN; brother-in-law, Zach Davenport of Nashville, TN; grandparents-in-law, Martha and Taylor Jones, of White Bluff, TN, and a host of other relatives, friends, and coworkers.

    Rachel was truly a one of a kind person. She was always smiling and enjoyed life everyday. She loved her husband and children unconditionally, she was one the happiest people I have ever met. She will truly be missed each and every day. My heart goes out to her husband, children and parents. I am glad I got the chance to know her, she filled the room with happiness. (Anthony is my husbands cousin which is the way I got to know her and enjoyed meeting her).

    I would like to offer my deepest sympathies to Rachel’s family. Losing a family member is deeply painful, especially when it’s someone so young.
    I lost my father some time ago, and one of the things that has helped me to cope is God’s promise to resurrect our loved ones soon to join us on a paradise Earth.
    Hosea 13:14 says, “From the the power of the Grave I will redeem them;
    From death I will recover them.
    Where are your stings, O Death?
    Where is our destructiveness O Grave?”
    Of course, we miss our loved ones now, and wish they could be with us now. But as the Bible says, we “grieve, but not without hope.”
    I hope your family can find some similar comfort in this very difficult time.
