My heart breaks for all of Richard’s Family. God Bless and Comfort you all during this sad time. Richard was a great man with a kind heart. I spent a lot of my childhood at his and Frances’s house with Carol and Richie. He was like a second Dad. He was my Daddy’s (Buck Jones) Best Friend before I was born. He and Daddy were great fishing buddies. He came and stayed a lot when my Daddy was in hospice and I will never forget his kindness toward him and my family. My Daddy now has his Favorite Fishing Buddy with him in Heaven.
Ruth please know I am thinking of you as I know you are hurting so much.
    Love to you all, Jeanie

John and I enjoyed many good times with Richard and his family, short trips, swimming, dances and much more. He came to see me about this time last year. Maybe he knew then. He was well liked and loved. My sympathy goes out to his family and many friends.. God Bless and know that I am thinking of you…..Ann Burrum

My deepest condolences to Richard’s family. My heart goes out to you over your loss. May your hearts find comfort in the precious memories you’ve shared and may God’s Word help to bring you comfort. ‘Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not gaze about, for I am your God. I will fortify you. I will really help you. I will really keep fast hold of you with my right hand of righteousness.’ (Isaiah 41:10). God promises that one day He will do away with sickness, pain, sorrow and even the enemy death because He loves us. 1 Corinthians 15:26; Revelation 21:3,4; Isaiah 33:24; John 5:25,26; John 3:16. As we keep praying for that day to come (Matthew 6:9,10), may God grant you peace that is beyond all understanding. Philippians 4:7. Heartfelt prayers are with you.

I am Evelyn, the eldest daughter of Richard and Eva Marcrum. I can not begin to tell you the number of times I have heard my Dad tell of the adventures of his great friend “Dickie”. Along with “Buck” Jones, Buster Wolfe, Charles Shively, and of course my Dad. They were the most entertaining tales ever. I still remember from long ago visiting the home of Dickie and Frances. I remember the gatherings and parties our families shared and all the fun times. And I most of all remember the amazingly blue eyes of Dickie and how kind and sweet he always was with everyone. I have seen him a couple of times in recent years and I was always thankful that my Dad had such a wonderful friend. A friend who was almost like a brother to him.

I am so very sorry for his entire family as I know it is a great loss. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knows him. He seemed to always bring such joy, happiness and friendship everywhere he went. My deepest sympathy to those who loved him.

We are sorry for your loss!

After the clouds, the sunshine; after the winter, the spring; after the shower, the rainbow; for life is a changeable thing. After the night, the morning, bidding all darkness cease, after life’s cares and sorrows, the comfort and sweetness of peace.
