Scott Duncan Sherrill, born Friday July 8, 1977, passed away Saturday September 26, 2020 surrounded by his family, following a brief illness.

Scott is survived by his beloved wife and son Briseida Sherrill and Sebastian Sherrill; his mother Georgeanne Oxnam (George); his father Parker Sherrill (Susan); brothers Rob Sherrill (Kristy), Derrick Harris (Melisa); step brothers Michael Tuck (Mary), Brad Oxnam (Heather); step sister Renee Tuck; aunt Margaret Ruof; uncle Sterling Smith (Suzy); nephews Jackson Sherrill and Brenden Harris; nieces Kyla Harris, Reagan Tuck and Lizzie Tuck.

Scott spent the majority of his life in Nashville. After graduating from Hillsboro High School, he attended the University of Tennessee, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity and graduated with a degree in Business. He loved his years on “the hill” and continued to be a big supporter of the Vols, especially UT football.

After graduation, he went to work for Public Policy Management Group (PPMG) as a Public Policy Consultant. While working for PPMG, he went to Belmont University where he received a Master’s in Business Administration. He used the knowledge and skills he gained from his degrees to provide business development assistance along with marketing and sales for many companies.

Scott was loved by so many friends during his lifetime, and he cherished those many relationships that he developed over the years. He cared deeply for friends and family members and was always willing to help out anyone who had a need. Scott loved spending time with family and friends at Tims Ford Lake wake boarding, boating and surfing. Vacations and making memories with Bri and Sebastian were the times Scott cherished most. Taking Sebastian to school week day mornings or hanging out with him on Saturday mornings was a very special time for Scott and Sebastian.

Scott’s family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to St Luke’s Meals on Wheels, support for the homeless, or St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

A gathering of friends and family, to Celebrate the very significant Life of Scott Sherrill, will be held at some point in the near future.

Scott has many, many cousins in the Winchester/Tims Ford Lake/Franklin County area. I am one of them, and Scott and I were undergrads at UT Knoxville at the same time. All of his extended family are fond of him and grieve his passing. May God grant him a peaceful eternal rest and may he rise in glory!

Scott held a special place in my heart. He was my nephew Tim Adgent’s best friend since childhood. Every year we would look forward to him, Brie and Tim and Karla being together at the Steeplechase. The Steeplechase was a part of their lives for many years. Scott had the most generous heart in the world and he didn’t brag about things he did. Very few people knew about his support to The Tennessee State Museum. He was fun, kind and just plain good through and through. He will genuinely be missed by all of us. Gone too soon but NEVER forgotten

Scott you have left us way too soon . From the first time I met you , you acted as we had known each other our whole lives . You always found a way to make me laugh and smile which I noticed you had that affect on almost everyone. I have memories of you 20 plus years ago to the infamous trip for spring break in Key West . You will forever be missed by me and anyone who knew you. Rest In Peace my friend!
