Tommy your friendship was a blessing to me. You left us way to soon. I will miss our talks about high school football. You were always torn that one game out of the year. Fairview vs Harpeth. You are surely missed my dear friend. My prayers are that the Lord will continue to walk with your family and to give them the strength to continue through this heartbreaking time. I know my friend i will definitely see you again…

Tommy, our families go back a long ways. You were always a good father, and a trusted friend. Peace and comfort to your family left behind. Reap the rewards of your life’s efforts, may your spirit rest in peace, home with those who’ve passed on before us. Your stories and laughter will be missed by many.

Where do i start. I began my life with you the year of 1998 and for a moment all the world was right. I was 34 and you were 40, when we became one. I know the lord sent you to me and Ryan for a reason, a reason that you and i know you were the King, took the chance because we kbew that we woyld have not wanted to miss the dance. Holding you i held everything and despite what everybody in your family thinks they know at the end of the day I Love You. And I’m glad that i didnt miss the dance we shared beneath the stars. Rest In Peace Tommy Raines you will always be in my heart.
    Love your wife

That’s really sweet Lynette. Please don’t forget to mention you separated from my father over 9 years ago. You could have wrote whatever you pleased and I would have kept my 2 cents out of it BUT since you want to through ‘his family’ in there….yea I’ll through some more truth with it. I’ll leave it at that for the sake of my father. Glad you got to say you peace to my daddy in his last days and I know you both loved each other. Leave ‘his family’ out of your comments please and thank you. God bless ♡

    Dear Tommy,
You are my Bubba, my brother, my family, and my best friend. Although I’m going to miss you tremendously, I pray the “family curse” ends here. I am not ready to leave the world just yet. So please keep God and the family busy with all your stories….
You are very much a man of your word. This was true in life and in your passing. Other than mom no other woman had you in their life longer than me. I hope you know how much I looked up to you and how much I was, am, and always will be grateful for your unconditional love. I love you with all my heart. Rest In Peace dear brother. Rest In Peace.

I met Tommy in the chapter of the book of his life where he was going through a divorce. We all know Divorces are never easy. He confided in me a lot. He knew that whatever he told me didn’t go any further than that. Even though he is gone from this Earth, I still respect his privacy. Through our friendship, he met my cousin, Lynette. We were all single parents that had our kids on the same weekend so our kids spent a lot of time together too. On nights we didn’t have kids, we sometimes went out dancing together. Lynnette always wanted me to call to let her know I made it home safely. If I didn’t, Tommy would drive to my house to make sure I was alright. We had a lot of good times. Tommy and Lynette got married 17 years ago. I have called him my cousin ever since. As a family, we gathered for birthdays, holidays, weddings and funerals. Sadly, Tommy’s not here for this gathering because it’s his funeral😑. Our family will celebrate our time with you.

Tommy had a lot of family and friends. I believe he made room in his heart for them all. He wouldn’t want any of them being hateful to each other especially during a sensitive time like this. I dont think anyone wants their departure from this Earth to the pearly gates to be overshadowed by drama. This is a time for grieving. Everyone grieves differently but anger suppresses the grieving process.

I hope you do rest in peace, cousin Tommy. Thanks for always checking on me. Thanks for dropping by to check on my son when he was sick. Thanks for dropping by to check on us when my brother died. Thanks for sitting with me at the VFW a few weeks ago and updating me. We didn’t know how precious a moment is until it’s gone. Most of all, thanks for being you. You definitely left your mark in this world!
    Love always,
    Sherrie
