Albert Larry Fendley

Albert Larry Fendley, 79, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Fendley, parents, Eunice Fairy and Albert Marion Fendley, three siblings, Wilma Jean Hudgens, Louise Phelps and Ronnie Fendley and a son-in-law, Rodrigo Martinez.

Mr. Fendley is survived by his three daughters, Lucinda Ann Fendley, Amy Fendley Rivera and Kelley Martinez, six grandchildren, Chasity, Michael, Gustavo, Hannah, Raymond and Ruben, a great-grandson, River, two siblings, Donna Barlow and Michael Fendley and numerous extended family and friends.

Albert found great enjoyment in the everyday—he was an avid watcher of the news and loved staying informed on current events. He had a natural knack for fixing things, especially lawn mowers, and could often be found tinkering in his garage. A lifelong collector, Albert had a special fondness for pennies, always on the lookout for ones that caught his eye.

He had a sweet tooth, and a cup of strong black coffee was rarely far from his hand. Friendly and talkative, Albert never met a stranger and was quick to share his thoughts—whether asked for or not—with a grin and good humor.

Albert retired after 35 dedicated years as a custodian for Metro Nashville Public Schools. He took great pride in his work and in the relationships, he built over the years with students, teachers, and coworkers alike.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and remembered for his humor, his honesty, and the way he made life just a little more interesting.

The family cordially invites relatives and friends to visit on Friday, August 1st, 2025, from two o’clock in the afternoon until eight o’clock in the evening at West Harpeth Funeral Home and Crematory, 6962 Charlotte Pike in Nashville. The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025, at eleven o’clock in the morning with visiting two hours prior to the service also at the funeral home. The committal service will immediately follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
