Allen Deal, 82, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Pickney, parents, Clifford and Frances Deal, and three brothers, Wayne Deal, Richard Deal and Bobby Deal.
He is survived by his two daughters, Beverly Osborn (Scott) and Shannon Clark (Kip), two grandchildren, Amanda Truesdell and Nick Osborn, four siblings, David Deal (Emily), Jimmy Deal (Maxine), Cheryl Hackett (Michael), and Gerald Deal (Judy), along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Allen was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose life was centered around faith, family, hard work, and the simple joys that brought people together.
A proud graduate of William James School, Allen was a member of the Class of 1961. He cherished the friendships formed during those years and often reflected on the special bond shared by his 39 classmates
For more than 50 years, Allen dedicated his career to the building supply industry, helping contractors, builders, and homeowners throughout Middle Tennessee. He spent over 25 years with Nashville Plywood, where he built lasting relationships and earned the respect of coworkers and customers alike through his knowledge, integrity, and commitment to service.
Outside of work, Allen enjoyed spending time outdoors and pursuing the hobbies he loved. Whether he was casting a line into the water, tending to his garden, or spending a day on the golf course, he found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was an avid football fan and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite team, the Tennessee Titans with Shannon and Cheryl by his side or via phone.
Above all else, Allen was a family man. His greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved. One of his most cherished traditions was hosting an annual Fourth of July barbecue for family and friends. Year after year, he looked forward to gathering everyone together, sharing good food, laughter, and creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
Allen will be remembered for his strong work ethic, generous heart, unwavering love for his family, and the countless lives he touched throughout his years. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on through the family he loved so dearly and the memories they will carry with them forever.
The family cordially invites relatives and friends to gather on Monday, June 15th from four o’clock in the afternoon until eight o’clock in the evening in West Hall at West Harpeth Funeral Home and Crematory, 6962 Charlotte Avenue in Nashville. The funeral will be held the following day, Tuesday, June 15th, set to commence at noon with visiting two hours prior also at the funeral home.
