Barinder Singh

Dr. [Brigadier] Barinder Singh of Nashville passed away on June 5th 2023 at the age of 93.  He was Born on November 22nd 1929 to Dalip Singh and Gurcharan Kaur in Minbu [Burma].  He enjoyed living life and had a great love for Reading, Poetry, current events and Sports. He was an active member of the Greater Nashville Sikh community and had an illustrious career as a Physician, Soldier and Administrator in the Indian Army Medical Corps.  He graduated from Saint Xavier’s College Calcutta and Amritsar Medical College in India.

He was preceded in death by his Father [Dalip Singh], Mother [Gurcharan Kaur] and Brother [Dr. Harpal S Bal].

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 63 years [Inderjit Kaur], Daughter [Rupa Rao], Sons [Deepinder Bal and Arvinder Bal], Grand daughter [Puja Rao], Grandsons [Rohan, Rajdeep, Tanveer, Amarveer and Tejveer], Daughter in law [Keertika Bal], Son in law [Gen. Ashoka Rao] and cherished friends and extended family in Nashville, India and all over the world.

Services celebrating his life followed by a farewell in the Sikh tradition will be held on Saturday June 10th 2023 at the:
