Betty J. Cope was born in Charlotte, Tennessee, on June 13th, 1935, and passed away on February 23rd, 2022, at the age of 86. She was an active member of Charlotte Heights Church of Christ and a graduate of Charlotte High School. She spent her days helping the church by taking on the responsibility as their secretary. She also spent her days surrounded by her family, cooking, and enjoying her sweets.
Betty is welcomed to her heavenly home by her husband of 66 years, William (Pete) Cope; her brother, Emmitt Jackson; her sisters, Mildred Glasgow, and Sara Pentecost; and her loving parents, Marvin and Effie Jackson.
Betty leaves behind her beloved children, Marty (Claire) Cope, Tim (Susan) Cope, Kellie (Mark) Pratt, and Kim (Brian) Eaton. She also had six grandchildren, Rex, Spencer, Stuart, Dellany, Rebecca, and Connor; and seven great grandchildren, J.J., Miller, Micah, Chevy, Chevelle, B.J. Jr., and Elijah.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 28th, from 4-8pm and on Tuesday, March 1st, from 1-2pm with service at 2pm at West Harpeth Funeral Home. Burial services will be held after the funeral services on Tuesday at 3:30 at Harpeth Hills Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rex Cope, Spencer Cope, Stuart Cope, Connor Cope, J.J. Smith, and Miller Smith.
In lieu of Flowers, the family requests donations be made to Churches of Christ Disaster Relief in Betty’s Honor.
