Betty Jean Veach, Age 91, passed away July 23, 2026, in Ashland City, Tennessee.

Mrs. Veach is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Bobby; her mother Retha Hillis Davis, father Beauford Shockley, her stepfather who raised her, John Davis, sister Mary Pelham and two son-in-law’s, Mark Killebrew and Guy Maynard.

Survived by children, Bobby Eugene Veach, Jr. (Ruth Ann), Barbara Killebrew, Sherry Maynard, Gary Veach (Renea); grandchildren, Brandon Patrick (Tiffany), Jonathan Killebrew, Raleigh Busser (Rick), Mallory Mooney (Ger), Amanda Maynard (Brandon), Brad Veach (Ashley), Heather Hulsey (Blake), Cody Maynard (Lindsey), Steven Veach, and Brock Veach; 14 great-grandchildren; sister Jonnye Pulley, brother, Bill (Judy) Davis.

Mrs. Veach worked as cafeteria server for the Metro School System for over 25 years. She loved her job because she loved children. She was a charter member and faithfully attended West Meade Fellowship Church; her church family was a big part of her life. She was an avid Vanderbilt fan and followed many sporting events throughout her life while her children were growing up and supported her church’s softball teams for many years as well. Although she was afraid of the water and never learned to swim, she loved going to the beach on vacation. She was happiest being with children, grandchildren and friends, and of course watching Vanderbilt and the Braves play ball.
