Carol Phillips died at her home November 24. 2018. She was born August 4, 1934 in West Nashville. She was a member of the Church of Christ and practiced her faith by attending services and living a meaningful and giving life. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Nettie Nokes and also by her beloved sisters Sybil and Geri. They were always a team.
She was a stay at home mom when her children were small. She then followed that with a fun and fulfilling career in the music industry which peaked in 2010 by receiving the S.O.U.R.C.E. award.
She was married to Claudie Phillips for 64 years.
She leaves behind son Greg (Carol Ann) Phillips and his children: Jaxon, Eli, Hayden, and Hudson Phillips, and his step-children: Jacob, Hannah, and Abby Wiser; One daughter Jennifer (Robert) Wiley; David Cox, Beth Cox, three great grandchildren; niece Terry Marrero and nephew Frank Marrero. She will also be missed by her classmates from Cohn High with which she maintained dear friendships.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018 in the chapel of West Harpeth Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 11:00am until 8:00pm and again on Thursday from 12:00pm until the time of service, also at the funeral home. Carol will be laid to rest at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Luke's Community Center, 5601 New York Avenue 37209. St. Luke's nurtured our family and continues to serve others.
What a sweet and gentle spirit she was.
