Cheryl Elaine (Deal) Taylor, passed away on September 19, 2026, in Nashville Tennessee at the age of seventy two. She was born on October 9, 1953, in Dickson, Tennessee. Cheryl graduated from William James High School in 1971. She was known for her love of family and the “Deal” work ethic. She began her career as an administrative assistant at Hardaway Construction Company, where she worked alongside her father and many of her brothers. She then worked at NRT and Metro Medical Supply where she made many of her dear friends. Cheryl had reinvented herself in recent years by becoming an Aflac Insurance Agent, where she was wonderful at being there for her customers when hardships were present. Her dedication and compassion was woven into each position she held.

To know Cheryl was to know how fiercely she loved her three grandsons, daughter, and family. She never missed an opportunity to tell others about the boy’s accomplishments and stories. “Nana, was the name and spoiling was the game” as she would have put it. Her daughter was not only her child but her closest friend. Their relationship was one of the most cherished parts of her life. Cheryl was a warm, sincere woman with an impeccable sense of style. Some of her favorite things were sitting on a sunny beach, hosting family Christmases, concerts with friends, and shopping. When she wasn’t cheering on her grandsons on a sports field, she was cheering on Tennessee Titans. She was a member of the Clearview Baptist Church in Franklin.

She is survived by her daughter, Scarlett (David) Anderson and her adored grandsons: Ethan, Bennett, and Crew. She is also survived by her caring husband, Michael Hackett and his five children. Cheryl is further survived by her beloved brothers: David (Emily) Deal, Jimmy “Harry” (Maxine) Deal, and Gerald (Judy) Deal. She leaves many nieces and nephews who will remember her with love.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Francis Deal, her dear brothers: Wayne, Allen, Bobby, Richard Deal, and her husband Michael Taylor. The family cordially invites family and friends to gather on Thursday, September 24th from six to eight in the evening at West Harpeth Funeral Home, 6962 Charlotte Avenue in Nashville. The funeral will be held the following day, Friday, September 25th, set to commence at noon with the visitation beginning at ten in the morning. Burial will follow at two in the afternoon at Dickson County Memorial Gardens, 3230, Highway 70 East.
