Clyde Thomas Dennis - Age 89, was born August 17, 1929 in Tennessee Ridge, TN. He married his wife of 64 years, Marie Carrell Dennis August 28, 1948.
After moving around for a few years they settled in Tennessee Ridge for many years. Mr. Dennis worked at Brakes Lumber Yard where he acquired the nickname DOC. He had 7 children at that time and made one dollar an hour to support them. Mr. Dennis got the chance to move to Nashville, TN in 1967 where he worked for 19 years at Ferro Fiberglass until they closed. After Ferro Fiberglass Mr. Dennis worked carpenter work for a couple of years until being hired at Madison Mill where he worked to the age of 85. He later had a stroke and had to completely retire. He enjoyed fishing and saving Money.
Preceded in death by parents, Lonnie and Ruth Dennis; wife, Marie; daughters, Penny Dennis and Debbie Monahan; granddaughter, Shannon Dennis, son-in-law, Randy Yeargin; brothers, George Johnny, James, Ray, Buddy, Buster; and sister-in-law, Pearl.
Survived by sons, Ronnie Dennis, Donnie Dennis (Stacy), Mike Dennis (Jana); daughters, Melody Dennis and Lisa Yeargin; grandchildren, Joshua Hood, Jeremy Odle, Brandy Crouch, Devry Dennis, Tracie Delk (Jeremy) Angela Dennis, Ashley Frank (Quinn), Steve Monahan, Kelly Percival(Jess) DJ Dennis, Katrina; great-grandchildren, Jacey, Jayden, Douglas, Lizzie, Carley, Summer, Jess, Steven, Brittney, Ben, Harper, Noah, Kaylee, Chris, Courtney and one great-great-grandchild, Geoffrey.
A Celebration of life service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at West Harpeth Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at West Harpeth Funeral Home.
