Darlene Forte - Age 63, passed away June 27, 2020 in Nashville, TN.
Preceded by parents Felton Murray Polk Sr. and Priscilla Edward's Polk.
Darlene was survived by her loving husband of 39 years, John Mike Forte; sons, Jeremy Curtis, Mikey Forte, Chris Forte (Hannah); grandchildren, Naomi Forte, Tabitha Forte, and Simon Forte. Also survived by siblings: Jeff (JB) Polk (Anne), Felton Polk Jr. (Cornelia), June Laverne Driver (Dwight), Rev. Kenneth Polk (Dianna), and Debbie Polk (Charlie Forte); and her many nieces and nephews who were such an important part of her life.
Darlene was a beloved sister, wife, mother, aunt, cousin, and a friend to many people. She was a true "Southern Belle" just like her momma. She was her family's number one cheerleader and encourager, a giver of her time, love, and possessions. She genuinely cared about others, loved her family dearly, and she was proud to be called "Granny".
Her love for Christ was evident throughout her daily life. Despite her many health hurdles and pains, she proved to be an overcomer and relied on her Savior. She loved being involved in ministry and immersed herself in children's church, drama, and music. Her energy and joy for life would light up the room and she was a natural at making people laugh and feel at ease. She loved and welcomed people into her life and made friends easily.
Darlene touched many lives and she will be greatly missed but we hold on to the hope of our Savior, that she has already joined the cloud of witnesses that have gone on before us, where we will all be reunited with her one day in Heaven and forever be with the Lord.
A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2020 at West Harpeth Funeral Home with Rev. Calvin Hammontree officiating. Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at West Harpeth Funeral Home. Face coverings will be required for all services.
