Dorothy Martin Johnson, 85, of Pegram, Tennessee, born on August 23, 1940, passed away on January 3, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Dorothy Arms. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, William Howard Johnson, two children, Scott Johnson and Misty Johnson, a niece, a nephew, three great-nephews and a host of close friends.
Originally from Celina, Tennessee, Dorothy graduated in 1959 from Celina High School. Shortly after graduating she moved to Nashville and lived at Central Church of Christ girls' home where she met many life-long friends. One of which introduced her to her future husband.
Dorothy started work at Washington Manufacturing Company upon moving to Nashville. She worked there until she had children. She took time to stay at home and rear them. Once they were older, she re-entered the workforce and took a job at Vanderbilt Hospital as a Staff Coordinator in Volunteer Services until she retired in 1999.
Dorothy proudly stood beside her husband throughout his involvement in the racing world, faithfully supporting him at every level. Racing was more than a pastime for Dorothy; it was a shared passion and a way of life. She not only offered encouragement but also formed lasting friendships along the way.
Above all, Dorothy cherished her family. She was a steady source of love, guidance, and kindness, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her quiet strength, warm heart, and genuine care for those around her will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
