Dorris Jean Taylor passed on January 18, 2026. Jean was born on July 4th, 1936, to Daniel E. and Lucille Murray Lillicrap in Nashville, TN. She is predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Douglas Lillicrap and Donald “Toby” Lillicrap. She graduated from Bellevue High School and attended Tennessee Technological University. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Jimmy Taylor, her three children, John Tracy Ryman, wife Linda, Mark E. Ryman, wife Natalie, and Holli Williams, husband Fred, and four grandchildren, Reagan Ryman, Rachel Ryman, Richard Williams, and Mallory Williams.
Jean enjoyed meeting people and worked for several years in the hospitality industry, culminating in operating a bed and breakfast with her husband on Center Hill Lake that they named Little Bit of Heaven. She loved square dancing, the beach, especially Florida, and many lifelong friendships. Upon retirement, Jean traveled with her husband and dogs, and painted many of the sights seen on their travels. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Jean had a strong faith and her family finds peace and comfort in knowing that she is with God.
Visitation will be at West Harpeth Funeral Home, 6962 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, Tennessee, on Thursday evening January 22, 5-7pm and at 1pm on Friday, January 23 with the service to follow at 2pm. Jean will be laid to rest in Spring Hill Cemetery with her parents and grandmother, Carrie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
