Edgar Gossard

Eddie Gossard, age 87, died peacefully at home with family on Oct. 10, 2019. He was married to Sarah Dennis, who preceded him in death in 2017. They met at Millsaps College in MS and moved to Nashville in the mid 1950s, where he attended Vanderbilt University. A 5th generation Methodist, he worked for UMCOM as an editor and publisher for 30 years. He is survived by three children, their spouses, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two sisters and extended family. Eddie was an avid reader, a sports enthusiast and a world traveler. He actively volunteered in retirement and was well loved and admired by all who knew him.
Services will be held at Belle Meade United Methodist Church, 121 Davidson Rd., Nashville, TN 37205 on Friday Oct. 18 at 2 pm, visitation from 12:30 - 2pm. In place of flowers, donations may be made to Belle Meade UMC or to Community Care Fellowship, P. O. Box 60068, Nashville, TN 37206.
