Ella Hopkins

Ella Mai Sadler DeFord “Maw Maw” Hopkins, 99, of Nashville, TN, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022. She was born in Nashville on June 11, 1922, to the late Ray P. and Jocy H. McCall Sadler. She attended Bellevue High School. Maw Maw was a member of West Nashville Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed knitting and needlework. She also loved doing crossword puzzles and sudoku, traveling, singing and dancing, and cooking.

Maw Maw was preceded in death by her previous husbands, T. G. DeFord and Bill Hopkins.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving sons, Eddie (Dilly) DeFord, and Tommy (Kay) DeFord; grandchildren, Keith (Jan) DeFord, Dana (Tony) Parker, and Adam (Leah) DeFord; great-grandchildren, Thomas (Hannah) DeFord, Lane (Susan) DeFord, Justin (Allison) Parker, Breanna (Michael) Mahaffey, Bree DeFord, and Bennett Defford; great-great-grandchildren, Grayson DeFord, Isabella Mahaffey, and Paisley DeFord.

The family will receive friends from 4:00PM until 7:00PM on Friday, February 18, 2022 at West Harpeth Funeral Home located at 6962 Charlotte Pike in Nashville. Additional visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 12:00PM until the 1:00PM service time. Maw Maw will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Park following the service.
