Helenrose Conlon, beloved mother, grandmother, and lifelong nurturer of both family and community, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the age of 93.
Born in Evergreen Park Illinois on July 21,1931, Helenrose earned her degree in Sociology from Clarke University in 1954. With a heart for service and a gift for teaching, she began her career as an educator in Chicago, Illinois, and Highland Park, Michigan. After several years in the classroom, she chose to devote herself fully to raising her family — a role she embraced with grace, strength, and unwavering love.
She was the devoted wife of the late Justin W. Conlon, her husband of 48 years, who preceded her in death in 2008.
Helenrose is survived by her four children, each of whom carry forward her legacy of compassion and character: Tom Conlon (Elaine), Kathy Purpura (Tony), Bob Conlon (Kim), and Tim Conlon (Keri).
She was a proud and loving grandmother to ten grandchildren who brought her immense joy: Ryan, Nicholas, Matthew, Maia, Bianca, Jacob, Maddie, Emily, Kate, and Kyle.
Helenerose was a vibrant soul who filled every room with laughter and warmth. Blessed with a quick wit and a joyful spirit, she had an incredible ability to connect with others and bring smiles to their faces. She found true joy in music and dancing, often moving to the rhythm with a light heart and infectious energy. Time spent with friends and family was what she cherished most, always making those around her feel loved and welcome. Helenerose’s kindness, humor, and love of life will be remembered and treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
