Jacquelaine Denise Vest, known to all as J'laine, passed away on January 26, 2015 after suffering a traumatic brain injury after a fall in her home in Brentwood, TN. J'laine was born on September 20, 1963 in West Memphis, AR. She was an intelligent and creative woman who loved her family, especially her three children. She was an English teacher in Arkansas at Hall High School and LISA Academy in Little Rock, Alabama, and Tennessee. She also was an accomplished writer. She graduated from St. John's College with her bachelor's degree and University of Arkansas with her MFA in Poetry. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Vest, of Brentwood, TN; her three children, Helena Fox, a sophomore at Ohio State University, Keith Vest, a high school junior, and James Vest, a sixth grader; her father, James Robnolt, and stepmother, Carolyn Robnolt, of Sherwood, AR; her sisters, Valerie Robnolt, of Richmond, VA, and Julie Robnolt, of Benton, AR; her mother-in-law, Margaret Vest, sister-in-law, Karen Buntin, and nephew, Kevin Buntin of Brentwood, TN; and her step-siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Harris Robnolt, and her grandparents. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of North Little Rock, AR on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in J'laine's memory to the National Endowment for the Arts at http://arts.gov/about/donate , Autism Speaks at http://www.autismspeaks.org, or Nashville Rescue Mission at http://www.nashvillerescuemission.org/ .
