James Randall “Randy” Hillin Jr., age 70, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on August 25, 2025.

Born on December 13, 1954, in Nashville, Randy was the son of the late James Randall Hillin Sr. (“Jim”) and Nancy T. Hillin. He grew up with a love of the outdoors and an unmatched work ethic, gifts he carried throughout his life.

Randy spent his working years using his hands, but his greatest joy was time spent alongside his father on the family farm in Williamsport, TN. He found peace and purpose in the simple but meaningful work of baling hay, raising cattle, and caring for the land. Even after the farm was sold in 2015, Randy never lost his deep connection to it. He was happiest under the open sky, with the smell of fresh-cut hay and the satisfaction of a hard day’s work.

In more recent years, Randy and his wife, Jeanni, bought a beautiful property in Erin, TN. Together, they worked tirelessly to make it their own, pouring themselves into the land and the home they built there.

Randy is survived by his devoted wife, Jeanni Hillin; his granddaughter, Kaylee Hillin, whom he and Jeanni lovingly raised; his granddaughter, Meleaha Floyd, and great-grandson, Korbin; his sister, Lisa Taylor, and her husband, Rick; his in-laws, Susie and James “Bud” Holt; his three nieces, Rebecca, Kathryn, and Natalie; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy and Jim Hillin.

Randy was a Christian man who lived his faith quietly, through his actions and the way he cared for those he loved. Though there will be no formal services, his family finds comfort knowing he is at peace and always with them in their hearts.

Randy’s life was one of steady devotion to his family, to his work, and to the land he loved. His memory will live on in every field of hay, every open pasture, and in the hearts of all who loved him.
