James Franklin "Frank" Hollingsworth Jr.

James Franklin Hollingsworth Jr., affectionately known as Frank, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee. Born on September 9, 1934, in Chattanooga, TN, Frank lived a life marked by devotion, kindness, and a deep commitment to his faith and family.

A graduate of David Lipscomb High School in Nashville, Frank’s journey through life was one anchored by his profound dedication to his spiritual calling. He was immensely proud of his work as a minister in the Church of Christ, a role through which he touched many hearts with his gentle spirit and unwavering belief in the Lord. Alongside his ministry, Frank retired as a glass inspector from the Ford Glass Plant in West Nashville.

Frank was a man of very sweet demeanor: mild-mannered, honest, and very people-pleasing. His warmth was felt deeply by all who knew him, as was his joy in the chaos and laughter of busy family gatherings. He loved nothing more than being surrounded by loved ones, tending lovingly to his wife and family, cherishing every moment shared with those closest to him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eleanor Hollingsworth, his mother, Cora Hollingsworth; his father, James Franklin Hollingsworth Sr.; his stepmother, Maxine Hollingsworth; as well as his siblings John Hollingsworth, Connie Scott, and Bennie Davis.

Frank is survived by his son Tom Hollingsworth (Lee Ann); daughter Leesa Dalton (Galyn); son Jim Hollingsworth (Yolanda); and his sister Sandra Hollingsworth. He is also survived by his six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews who brought light and laughter into his life.

The family cordially invites all who would like to attend to the graveside service to honor and celebrate Frank’s life. The service will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Spring Hill Cemetery (5110 Gallatin Pike S, Nashville, TN 37216), and will begin at 11:00 a.m. and conclude at 12:00 p.m. The service will be officiated by Daryl Demonbreun.

The sweet, humble presence of Frank touched many, and his legacy of faith, love, and quiet strength remains a guiding light to his family and friends. Though he has departed from this earthly life, the memories of his tender heart and gentle spirit will forever linger in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
