James Hummel

James Frederick Hummel, “Fred,” of Nashville, TN passed away on Friday, May 5th, 2023, at the age of 85 years.  He was born on December 27, 1937, to Dorothy and Hal Hummel.  Fred enjoyed watching sports and doing Sudoku Puzzles.  He was of the Christian faith and a proud graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Fred is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Hayes Hummel and is survived by his children, Hayes Eden Hummel, David Andrew Hummel, James Frederick Hummel, Jr., Brandon Harris Hummel; sister, Nancy Elaine Stephenson; grandchildren, Jesse Haddock Hummel, Canon Harris Hummel, Griffin Banks Hummel; daughters-in-law, Julie Haddock Hummel and Andrea Smith Hummel.

Visitation will be at Calvary United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 3rd from 1:00pm - 3:00pm with the memorial service at 3:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Calvary United Methodist Church in Fred Hummel’s honor.
