Mrs. Jamie Scott Stewart passed away Friday, March 27, 2026, in Madison, TN, at age 89.

Jamie had a lifelong passion for teaching and dedicated many years to inspiring and shaping young minds. She was a beloved educator whose kindness, patience, and wisdom touched countless students and families throughout her career.

Jamie was a wonderful mother to her daughter, Janet Lynn Scott Collier, and her son, James “Jay” Albert Scott Jr. She loved going on adventures with them, making memories, and being the best mother she could be. Her children were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment she spent with them.

After the tragic passing of her daughter at a very young age, Jamie selflessly stepped into the role of mother for her two grandchildren. Even though she did not have to, she chose to raise them with unconditional love, strength, and devotion. Her guidance shaped their lives in ways they will forever cherish.

Jamie was also a deeply devoted Christian who loved the Lord Almighty with all her heart. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she found joy in sharing God’s love with others. She loved spending time with her friends and enjoyed going on many exciting trips and adventures over the years, creating memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.

Her two great-grandchildren brightened her days and filled her life with joy; she often said they made her life worth living and more enjoyable.

She is preceded in death by her husbands James “Jimmy” Albert Scott Sr., and James “Jimmy” Stewart and her daughter, Janet Lynn Scott Collier. She is survived by her son, James “Jay” Albert Scott Jr.; her grandchildren, Kacie Nicole Collier and Cameron Daniel Collier; her great-grandchildren, Joshua Collier and Jocelyn Collier; and her brothers, Jim McGowan and Bob McGowan.
