Janice Elaine Beard passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, in Ashland City, Tennessee. Born on February 22, 1951, in Carthage, Missouri, Janice’s journey through life was marked by rich experiences, heartfelt connections, and a life dedicated to service and joy.
Janice was a proud graduate of Carthage Senior High School, where she nurtured her love for music as a treasured member of the band. Her early passions would accompany her through many chapters of her life, shaping a beautiful journey marked by devotion and adventure.
Her commitment to serving others was exemplified through her time in the United States Army from 1974 to 1975, during which she was stationed in Germany. This experience broadened her horizons and deeply influenced her connection with places and people far from home. Janice’s willingness to give back extended beyond her military service as she volunteered at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta — an opportunity she cherished greatly — and later at the Fisher House near Landstuhl, Germany. These acts of volunteering reflected her generous heart and her steadfast dedication to supporting those around her.
Janice lived in various places throughout her life, including Arkansas, Georgia, and Germany. For the past nine years, she found a happy home in Nashville, Tennessee, near her brother Charles.
Her passions brought light and joy to her days. She was an avid fan of TBN and delighted in listening to contemporary Christian music, which resonated deeply with her hopeful and loving spirit. She was also a devoted fan of all things Disney, embracing the magic by visiting Disneyland and Disney World in the United States as well as Disneyland Paris, experiences that brought her great happiness and fond memories.
Janice was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Lawrence and Ruth Beard, whose legacy of love and strength lives on through her.
She is survived by her brothers, George Beard, Charles Beard, and James Beard, who stand as pillars of support and love in this profound moment of loss. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, each of whom carries a piece of her light and warmth in their hearts.
Janice Elaine Beard’s life was a tapestry woven with compassion, joy, and steadfast dedication to others. Her memory will remain an enduring blessing to all who knew her, forever cherished for the gentleness she showed to the world and the beauty she brought into the lives of those she loved.
