Jinnette Greer Jacobs

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Jinnette Greer Jacobs of Nashville, TN, who died on December 10, 2023, at the age of 76. 

Jinnette was born on February 6, 1947, to Callie Ronalda and Charles E. Greer. She graduated from David Lipscomb High School and MTSU.  Jinnette spent the first half of her career as a law office administrator at Jacobs and Holt Law Firm, then the second half of her career as a Davidson County probation officer for Judge Aaron Holt.  She enjoyed sewing and making beautiful clothes, spending time with her friends and family, at the beach in Panama City and hanging out with her classic car club buddies.  She was an active member of the Mid-Tenn Classic Chevy Club. 

Jinnette will be remembered for her kind and gentle nature, her love of life, and her generous heart. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, J. Michael “Mike” Jacobs, married for 29 years, her parents Charles and Callie Greer, her brother Eugene Greer, father-in-law Garland and mother-in-law Margie Jacobs.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Melanie (Don) Larson and Ben (Jennifer) Jacobs; her granddaughters Amelia Larson and Carly Jacobs;  special friend George Murphey;  sister Linda (Larry) Arnold, Sr.; sister-in-law Mary Greer; brother-in-law Jeff (Tori) Jacobs. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, including: Chad and Tyler Greer, Heather Eaton, Travis Jacobs, Jessica Carlsen; Laurie Tompkins, Larry Arnold Jr. and Lance Arnold; and Callie Tompkins.

The family would like to send special thanks to friend and caregiver Madget Tidwell, Clarendale at Bellevue Place, Heart’n Soul Hospice and Daryl Demonbruen.

The family will receive friends from 3:00PM until 7:00PM on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at West Harpeth Funeral Home located at 6962 Charlotte Pike in Nashville. Additional visitation will be held at West Harpeth on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 11:00AM until 12:00PM. A Celebration of Jinnette’s Life will begin at 12:00PM on Friday in the Chapel at West Harpeth with Daryl Demonbruen officiating. Following the service, Jinnette will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Memorial Park with family and friends to serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Jinnette’s honor to the Alzheimer's Foundation, American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
