Lona "Elaine" Baldwin age 73, passed away on April 20, 2021 in Nashville, TN. She was born on March 6, 1948 in Meador, WV. She is preceded in death by her parents, Everette and Margaret Simpkins; brothers James Everette, L.E. (Judy) and Eddie Lee Simpkins

Elaine is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Joe Orville Baldwin; her son, Joey Baldwin (Pamela); her daughter, Melinda Baldwin; her grandchildren, Joey Baldwin II, Rachel Baldwin, Calvin Lester II, and Cory Lester as well as her best friend, Robin Hendricks Matson. Elaine was also a lifetime member of the Church of Christ.

Elaine was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother with unsurpassed devotion to her loving husband Joe. She treasured her children and especially loved her role as "Nanny" and was elated over the resemblance between herself and her only granddaughter, Rachel. She had an outgoing personality, made friends everywhere she went and always had a smile on her face. Her passion for music, holidays, interior design, and decorating was second to none. Of course, last but not least... she had an uncanny zeal for "a lot of shopping". She loved to give gifts to family and friends even if there wasn't an occasion.

Without a doubt, she made the best German Chocolate cake anywhere on the planet. Just ask Joe, her husband! One of the things that Elaine loved to do was spend the weekend at the lake with her family. We can remember a time where she was so bold as to hop on the back of her son Joey's jet ski and go for a ride with him!

Elaine also stood by Joe's side through the years while he was banging the piano keys in a band back in West Virginia and worked beside him in the family business. She was only 14 years old when she met Joe and from that point on, they stole each other's hearts. Joe adored and loved Elaine and always will forever and ever.

Visitation with the family will be held from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the West Harpeth Funeral Home followed by a memorial service beginning at 2:00 pm.
