Mailen Todd McWilliams, of Nashville, passed away on the 15th of February at the age of 44. He was born on October 23rd, 1979 to Mailene McWilliams. He ran Track and Cross Country for Clemson University where he graduated with a BA in Political Science & Communications in 2003. He was preceded in death by his Grandfather Mailen McWilliams, Grandmother Virginia McWilliams, Aunt Anita Rae Mace, and Cousin Polly Galbreth.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his mother, Mailene Virginia McWilliams; his wife of 5 years Mary (Min) McWilliams, and one child Eabha May McWilliams (3 years old).
Todd overcame so many obstacles in his life to become a Green Beret. At the time of his death, he was a heavily medaled Special Forces weapons sergeant who influenced the lives of all those he encountered both on deployment and more importantly at home. Todd was caring, compassionate, and ruthless, in wit and personality. Todd was the type of person that dominated any task which was given to him, including his hobbies. He excelled in all he did and was an inspiration to those who witnessed his progress.
From Jam Bands to gun jargon, Todd knew a lot about a wide variety of experiences because he had the opportunity to truly live them. He had friends on each end of the spectrum because Todd had an energy that drew all walks of people to him. He enjoyed living his life. Hearing him share stories of his vast experiences made him the life of any get together. He had an energy anyone felt lucky to behold. And if one was lucky enough to hold his attention, well, that was a feeling unmatched by any other.
The service is to be held on the 29th of February at West Harpeth Funeral Home. Visitation at 10am with the service beginning at 11 followed by a full military burial with honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to GoFundMe https://gofund.me/254bebd7 in Todd McWilliam's honor.
