Butch Young

Marcus Lee “Butch” Young, Jr., 66, of Nashville, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at his home. He was born in Nashville on August 9, 1957, to the late Marcus Lee and Joann Parnell Young, Sr. Butch attended Bellevue High School. He worked for Nashville Metro Department of Public Works. Butch enjoyed traveling to the beach and to Gatlinburg. He also liked watching NASCAR and football. Butch enjoyed playing chess and fishing.

In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by his brothers, Tommy and Robbie.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 24 years, Dee Young; son, Marcus Lee Young, III (Lisa); grandchildren, Taylor, Mason, and Bailey; brother, Randy Young (Lisa); and a host of extended family members and beloved friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00AM until 1:00PM on Monday, July 8, 2024, at West Harpeth Funeral Home located at 6962 Charlotte Pike in Nashville. A Celebration of Butch’s Life will begin at 1:00PM in the Chapel at West Harpeth. Following the Service, Butch will be laid to rest in the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens on Highway 100.
