Margaret Maynard Allen

On March 11^th, 2024, Margaret Maynard Allen left this world to be with her Lord and Savior.  She was born March 25^th, 1928, to Walter and Louella Maynard. She is survived by her husband of 77 years, Robert E. Allen and one son, Robert E. Allen Jr. (Debbie). She is also survived by two granddaughters, Amanda Allen Balek (Mike) and Candice Allen Jackson (Brent); and three great-grandchildren, Finley Wyatt Jackson, Addilyn Holly Jackson, and Bennett Tate Balek. She is survived by one sister, Betty Maynard Willis (Gerald). She is also survived by one brother-in-law, Clyde Jeanette; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers: Glenn Maynard (Verna Lee), Homer Maynard (Irene), W.L. Maynard and Ray Maynard. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Dorothy Maynard Simmons (Willie), Rachel Maynard Jeanette, Barbara Maynard Davidson (Bates), and Marion Maynard Dean (Clyde).

She was an active member of West Nashville Heights Church of Christ which was later renamed to Charlotte Heights Church of Christ. Margaret loved sports. She played basketball and bowled. She enjoyed playing golf in her golden years with family and friends. Margaret began her banking career in 1947. Margaret was an avid supporter of Bob during his high school sports activities.

The family will receive friends from 4:00PM until 7:00PM on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at West Harpeth Funeral Home located at 6962 Charlotte Pike in Nashville. Additional visitation will be held from 11:00AM until 1:00PM on Friday, March 15, 2024, at West Harpeth. A Celebration of Margaret’s Life will begin at 1:00PM on Friday in the Chapel at West Harpeth. Following the service, Margaret will be laid to rest in the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
