Mary Elizabeth Davis of Nashville, TN passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at her home at the age of 84. She was born in Nashville on January 17, 1935 to the late Frank Coleman and Elsie Collins Coleman.
Along with her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Lawrence Davis, Sr. and their daughter Tia Davis Hill.
Mary is survived by her children, Lawrence Davis, Jr, Sandra Davis Potts, Claude Martin Davis(Lynn), and Stephen Davis(Christy). She is also survived by nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of many extended family members and close friends.
Mary was a member of New Covenant Christian Church in Nashville and was very close to her church family, as her faith is what was most important in her life. Before her health declined, Mary was an excellent bowler, competing in and winning several tournaments. She also had a passion for sewing. One of the fondest memories her family remembers is her love for singing and how they will cherish the comfort that brought, forever.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 12:00pm in the chapel of West Harpeth Funeral Home in Nashville. Visitation will also be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 2nd from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Thursday an hour prior to the service.
