Mary Sue Powell Hudgens, age 94, of Nashville passed away at Windsor Reflections Memory Care Center, Longwood Ranch, FL on Monday, September 28, 2020.

She was born May 1, 1926 to her parents, the late James Walter Powell and Nannie Lee Taylor Powell.

Mrs. Hudgens helped to found and begin the Mid State Educator Credit Union, now Cornerstone Financial Credit Union, and worked in Accounting for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the Glendale United Methodist Church and later in life attended St. John's Lutheran Church. She attended Cumberland High School and George Peabody School for Teachers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years and childhood sweetheart, Edgar Ray Hudgens; grandson, Paul Roby; sisters Allie Mae Powell Anderson, Lovell Powell Perkins, and Cora White.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Linda Sue Hudgens Loftis (Robert) of Smithville, TN and Leeanna Ray Roby (Leon) of Sarasota, FL; and grandsons Eric Merriman and Mark Roby; great grandson, Ian Merriman; nephews, nieces, and cousins.

The funeral service will be on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at 11:00am, at West Harpeth Funeral Home on Charlotte. Reverend Rick Roberts will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Hudgens Cemetery in Ashland City. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. John's Lutheran Church.

Visitation with the family will be on Saturday from 10AM until the service time at 11AM, at West Harpeth Funeral Home & Crematory
