Mary Jo Vest, 48, of Paris, Tennessee, passed away on February 21st, 2024. Mary Jo was born in Warren, Ohio, to Barbara Newsome and Richard Poling on April 7th, 1975. She grew up in Deltona, Florida, where she fell in love with the beach, the sun, country music, and all things Disney.

A passionate, wild child from day one, Mary Jo never conformed to the expectations of others. She was known for her sharp wit and a remarkable ability to speak her mind. Her words, always honest and often laced with humor, challenged others to see the world through an unfiltered lens.

Mary Jo’s passion for Disney was more than just a hobby. From Disney-themed games at family gatherings to visiting the parks more times than one could count, Disney was a way of life. She shared this love with her children and grandchildren, creating countless magical memories surrounded by Disney that will be cherished forever. She truly believed a dream is a wish your heart makes, and all that it takes is faith, trust, and a little bit of pixie dust.

Above all, Mary Jo’s greatest love was for her family. She was a devoted mother and Mamaw who nurtured her children and grandchildren with love, wisdom, and a dash of her signature mischief. Her lessons and love have left an indelible mark on their hearts, shaping them into the individuals they are today.

Mary Jo is survived by her husband, Kenneth Vest; children Morgan Butler, Derek Butler, Chelsea Butler, and James Vest; siblings Alicia Nespeca, Richard Poling, Larry Poling, and Kim Frazier; grandchildren Audrie Mansell, Allana Mansell, and Kahless Butler; nephew Lynken Brennick.

Mary Jo was preceded in death by mother Barbara Newsome, father Richard Poling, step father Anthony Nespeca, and granddaughter Maddie Butler.

Visitation will be held at West Harpeth in Nashville on Saturday, March 2nd at 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service following at 4:00 p.m.
