Patricia (Pat) Ann Green

Patricia (Pat) Ann Green, 86, passed away on August 22nd 2024 in Franklin. She was born on July 17, 1938 in Silver Point, TN. to Oscar Staley and Sallie Daisy Johnson. She had six sisters and four brothers. 

Pat was predeceased by her parents and husband, Clyde H. Green and son, Eric Lee Green, as well five of her sisters and four brothers. She is survived by two sons, Clint Green (Diane) and David Green (Connie), her five grandchildren Erin Elrod (Justin), Cameron Green (Cindy), Cole Green, Olivia Green and Jack Green. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Hudson and Will Green as well as a sister, Vivian Boswell. 

Pat was a loving wife, caring mother and gentle grandmother/great- grandmother (Mimi). She was a phenomenal cook (breakfast was her specialty). She was blessed with a green thumb and could grow just about anything, always boasting a garden full of vegetables. She was an avid bird watcher, particularly fond of Red Birds and hummingbirds, and had an array of bird feeders strategically placed outside her front window. The only thing she owned more of than bird feeders was Christmas trees, at least one per room when December drew near. She was always festive and took to heart the spirit of giving and providing for her family, no matter the occasion. When she wasn’t keeping her home warm and cozy for anyone who may stop by, she was sure to be traveling. Her preferred method of travel was by cruise ship, and her favorite destinations were in the Caribbean. Her selflessness and devotion to care extended beyond her family and friends. 

Pat helped Dr. Michael Christie start the Vanderbilt Arthritis and Joint Replacement Center, and she retired as its Director after dedicating almost forty years to nursing and patient care. Pat lived a colorful life, leaving a mark on anyone who met her. She was steadfast and tough as a hickory nut, yet never failed to not only see, but also to bring out the good in other people. The world is dimmer without her light, and she will be dearly missed until we meet again.

The family will be receiving friends at West Harpeth Funeral Home 6962 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 between the hours of 3 pm and 7 pm.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital would be appreciated.
