On January 28, 2026, Robert Earl Allen Sr. left this world to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born December 15, 1925, to Joe Benjamin and Hazel Marie Allen. He was preceded in death by his wife of 77 years, Margaret Elizabeth Maynard Allen. He is survived by one son, Robert Earl Allen Jr. (Debora Tate Allen). He is survived by two granddaughters, Amanda Nicole Balek (Mike) and Candice Denise Jackson (Brent). He is also survived by three great grandchildren, Finley Wyatt Jackson, Addilyn Holly Jackson, and Bennett Tate Balek. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Edward, John Lewis, and Henry Alvin Allen. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Clara Irene Vaughn, Mabel Louise Hesson, and Roberta Earline McNeese (twin sister). He is survived by one sister, Barbara Jean Wilson. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a group of Bob's lifelong friends and was described by one of them as "the fun Dad that we all wished we had". Earl had his own group of lifelong friends.
He was an active member of West Nashville Heights Church of Christ, which later was renamed Charlotte Heights Church of Christ. He served on the USS Nevada during World War II. He raced boats and rode motorcycles. He water-skied with his hat, sunglasses, and a cigar. He worked at Keith Sinclair until he retired at age 77. He was blessed and he blessed us all with his big personality and sense of humor. Cab leaves this world better for having known him and he gave his best for all of his 100 years.
A visitation will be held from 4 PM to 8 PM On Friday, February 6, 2026. A second visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 7, 2026. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. All services will be at West Harpeth Funeral Home & Crematory, 6962 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, Tennessee, 37209. Burial will follow the funeral service on February 7, 2026, at 2:30 PM, at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, Tennessee, 37221.
