Anderson
Aug 12, 1930 — Jun 29, 2026
Nashville, TN
Robert Eugene Anderson, born August 12, 1930, in Nashville, Tennessee, departed this life on June 29, 2026, in the city of his birth. His passing marks the close of a remarkable 95-year journey, lived with steadfast dignity and grace in the heart of Nashville.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Moody Wren Anderson and Annis Orton Anderson; his brother, Moody Anderson, Jr.; his sister, Joan Anderson Turbeville; his son-in-law, Bob Graham, and his loving wife of 61 years, Jean Helen Jenkins Anderson, who was the devoted partner and sweetheart of his life with whom he shared a beautiful marriage filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories;.
Robert leaves behind his children: Terrie Welch (Rick), Sheila Graham, Aneece Wilkerson (Bo), and Robert Anderson, Jr. (Barbara).
He was a proud grandfather to Ricky Welch, Misti Welch, Wendy Souris (Patrick), Lindsay Griffy (Patrick), John Austin Wilkerson, Bobby Graham (Kari), and Mason Anderson.

Robert dedicated more than 50 years of his career to the H.G. Hill Company, beginning his service as a young teenager at the age of 14. His hard work, commitment, and loyalty reflected the values by which he lived his life; very friendly and never meeting a stranger. His memory of Nashville's history and the people he served could fill many pages of memoirs, which he could recall with remarkable sharpness until his final days.
A man with a deep love for sports and the outdoors, Robert especially enjoyed hunting and fishing with his beloved wife, Jean, spending many happy days on the water together collecting their catch for fish fries with the family . They were also avid fans of the Vanderbilt Comodores, attending years of games together as long-time season ticket holders.
In his later years, he discovered a passion for gardening and found great joy sharing that hobby with his devoted neighbor and friend, Tommy Hand. There were always many tomatoes shared and enjoyed by many throughout the summers from his harvests.
