Robert "Bob" Daniel Ratagick, 90, of Lebanon, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
Born in Green Bay Wisconsin to Anton and Helen Ratagick. Preceded by his sisters and brothers Anton, Helen Marie, William, and Anne Elizabeth.
After graduating high school in Green Bay, Bob enlisted in the Army, serving in the Army of Occupation in Germany from 1954 to 1957 as a Heavy Equipment Operator.
He returned to the United States and rejoined his family in Waterloo Alabama. There he used his GI Bill to attend Auburn University, earning a degree in Construction Engineering, Class of 1962.
In 1968, he married Cynthia Louise Todd and together they raised a family. His children are Anthony, Maggie and Diana, grandchildren Patrick, Kenneth Todd and Alex.
Bob spent the next 60 years building and maintaining things, notably, Director of maintenance and engineering at Prince Georges County General Hospital, Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans and Providence Hospital in Mobile. He also served in a similar capacity at First American Bank in Northern Virginia and Samford University in Birmingham. Bob continued working until he was 80, retiring from the City of Huntsville AL as its general services manager.
Bob had a love of fishing, particularly salt water, and never tired of the sport. He also enjoyed a lifetime of cheering for his alma matter Auburn, particularly football.
Bob’s sense of humor and wit, and his love of his family will be missed.
The family cordially invites relatives and friends to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Friday, January 9, 2026, at West Harpeth Funeral Home and Crematory, 6962 Charlottle Pike in Nashville. The service will commence at eleven o'clock in the morning. A committal service will immediately follow, via an escorted cortege, at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 7931 McCrory Lane in Nashville.
